Music Teacher – Primary & Secondary (Part‑time, Immediate Start)

About the role

Sunmarke School is looking for a passionate Music Teacher to deliver high‑quality music education across Primary and Secondary phases. The role is part‑time with an immediate start, focusing on curriculum delivery, student progression, and enriching the school’s cultural life.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated music lessons for Primary and Secondary year groups.
• Cover performance, composition, listening, and music theory.
• Implement structured programmes aligned with Trinity, ABRSM or equivalent frameworks.
• Assess student progress, provide feedback, and prepare students for performances and examinations.
• Lead music clubs, ensembles, rehearsals and support school‑wide events.
• Collaborate with the Head of Department and teaching staff on curriculum development.
• Uphold safeguarding and pastoral responsibilities at all times.

Required profile

• Formal qualification in music education.
• Experience preparing students for external music assessments or graded examinations.
• Proven experience working with children in a school setting.
• Ability to deliver instruction aligned to Trinity, ABRSM or equivalent frameworks.
