mWater & IT Specialist (Water for Life Initiative)

About the role

Global Aid Network Canada (GAiN) is looking for an mWater & IT Specialist for its Water for Life Initiative (WFLI), reporting to the Operations and Technical Manager. The role provides IT expertise to the programs and in-country teams through systems, technology and applications, improving IT tools, processes and training, and supporting field team members. It is a commissioned, full-time position based remotely.

Key responsibilities

• mWater Specialist (45%): optimize the mWater data collection platform through training and experience, train staff on the mWater Surveyor app and online portal, become a Super-User and support stakeholders, manage regular data cleaning and validation, and evaluate and improve the data collection, monitoring and evaluation business process.
• IT Generalist (45%): support field users on OKTA and Google, maintain the WFLI Well Database with the Project Associate, train staff on IT security best practices, research best-in-breed IT structures, and manage relationships with key stakeholders including P2C IT.
• Other duties (10%): attend weekly chapel and the bi-annual International Day of Prayer, take part in staff and team meetings, support other GAiN teams, and carry out other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
• Deep, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to see people's lives transformed by Him.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organized and a good steward of time.
• Team player who can also work independently, and a desire to learn and strive for excellence.
