NDT Inspector – Pipeline Installation & Inspection

About the role

The company seeks an experienced NDT Inspector to support pipeline installation, maintenance and repair projects in the oil and gas sector. The role involves on‑site inspections, verification of welding and coating activities, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site inspection of pipeline installation, maintenance and repair activities.
• Monitor and verify welding activities against approved procedures, specifications and industry standards.
• Conduct coating inspections, including surface preparation verification, coating application monitoring and final assessment.
• Review inspection and test plans (ITPs), drawings, procedures and technical documentation.
• Witness and document field testing such as hydrostatic testing and non‑destructive examination (NDE).
• Identify and report non‑conformances, quality concerns and installation issues.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate field records.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, contractors and customers to resolve technical issues.

Required profile

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, Quality Assurance or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of field experience in pipeline installation and inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and quality documents.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Welding inspection (CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI preferred).
• Coating inspection (NACE Level 1/2, BGAS preferred).
• Non‑destructive examination (NDE) and hydrostatic testing.
• Knowledge of pipeline construction methods, protective coating systems and relevant standards (API, ASME, ISO).
