Network Administrator – Enterprise Data Networks

About the role

The University is seeking a Network Administrator to design, implement and maintain its enterprise data network across all campuses. This position will plan, install and provide high‑level support for LAN/WAN, wireless and structured cabling systems, ensuring continuous connectivity for academic and residential environments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and install enterprise data networks for the entire university.
• Provide daily network troubleshooting and high‑level support.
• Produce detailed logical and physical network documentation for all UAE University sites.
• Lead networking projects, including site visits, RFP preparation, technical evaluation, installation and commissioning.
• Integrate diverse network technologies such as ATM and Gigabit Ethernet.
• Install and configure wireless networks across multiple campuses.
• Upgrade networks and maintain continuous LAN/WAN functionality.
• Troubleshoot structured cabling, active network devices, core/edge equipment and wireless access points.
• Support and maintain wired and wireless networks in student housing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a specialization in Data Communications & Networking.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime.
