Neurology Specialist

About the role

The Neurology Specialist will provide comprehensive neurological care to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings at Speciality Hospital Al Ain. The role includes clinical duties, supervision of the neurodiagnostic laboratory, and participation in quality and safety initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform neurologist duties in accordance with the Credential Committee’s privileges for OPD and IP services.
• Oversee the neurodiagnostic laboratory (EEG, EMG) and train technicians as needed.
• Provide on‑call emergency coverage for neurological emergencies.
• Participate in monthly educational conferences and continuous quality‑improvement activities.
• Develop and promote standards of care, maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
• Monitor and manage clinical risks, maintain accurate medical records, and support professional development of self and colleagues.
• Comply with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policies, use appropriate PPE, and participate in risk assessments, trainings, and audits.
• Handle consumables and instruments following infection‑control and safety protocols.

Required profile

• Qualified to perform neurologist duties as approved by the Credential Committee.
• Ability to supervise a neurodiagnostic laboratory and train staff.
• Willingness to provide on‑call emergency coverage.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement and adherence to hospital policies.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with staff, associates, and management.
• Understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and OSH standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and administrative information.
