Night Auditor

About the role

The Night Auditor ensures smooth hotel operations during the overnight shift, handling guest arrivals and departures, financial transactions, and coordination with other departments. This position combines front‑desk service with accounting responsibilities to maintain accurate daily records.

Key responsibilities

• Process guest check‑in and check‑out, verify documentation, and manage billing and collections.
• Perform the night audit, reconcile guest room rates, and verify trial balances between Opera Cloud, Micros, and credit‑card machines.
• Prepare room allocations for early arrivals and block rooms for groups.
• Document nightly activities, incidents, and produce audit reports for the finance department.
• Respond to guest requests such as wake‑up calls, room service, transportation, and provide information on hotel facilities and local attractions.
• Communicate hand‑over details to the morning shift and collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security.
• Handle emergencies and resolve issues that arise during the night.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a front‑desk or customer‑service role, preferably in hospitality.
• Basic knowledge of accounting or bookkeeping principles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under pressure.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Familiarity with hotel management software (e.g., Opera Cloud, Micros).
• Basic accounting software proficiency.
• Experience with credit‑card processing systems.
• Proficient use of standard computer applications.
