Online Learning Designer & EdTech Developer (Part‑time Consultant)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Online Learning Designer and EdTech Developer to create a series of Critical AI Literacy modules for higher‑education students. Working remotely, you will collaborate with the project’s Principal Investigator, Co‑Investigator, graduate research assistants and other personnel to transform research‑informed content into engaging, accessible online learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Translate academic content and learning objectives into five interactive, self‑contained online modules.
• Develop scenario‑based activities, knowledge checks, self‑assessment tasks and automated feedback using digital authoring tools.
• Produce and integrate multimedia elements such as graphics, video, audio, captions and transcripts.
• Configure, test and deploy the modules in iLearn/Blackboard Ultra, ensuring compatibility with institutional technologies.
• Conduct accessibility and usability testing, resolve technical issues and provide support during the student pilot.
• Document module maintenance procedures and configure learner‑engagement data where feasible.

Required profile

• Advanced degree or substantial professional experience in Educational Technology, Learning Design or a related field.
• Proven experience designing and developing online or blended learning materials for higher education.
• Hands‑on experience with Blackboard Ultra, Canvas, Moodle or comparable LMS.
• Strong knowledge of accessibility standards, universal design for learning and inclusive digital learning practices.
• Excellent project‑management, communication and collaboration skills.
