Open Source Software Engineer – CloudStack

About the role

ShapeBlue is looking for passionate software engineers to work on Apache CloudStack, the leading open‑source IaaS platform. You will join a global, distributed team that designs, builds, and supports cloud solutions for service providers and enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new features for CloudStack based on customer demand and the product roadmap.
• Create and maintain vendor integrations and support production CloudStack deployments.
• Collaborate with the Apache open‑source community via mailing lists, Slack, and occasional meet‑ups.
• Contribute code, documentation, and bug fixes back to the upstream project.
• Help customers troubleshoot and optimise their CloudStack environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Java developer working on complex, distributed systems.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and deliver robust software.
• Experience contributing to collaborative open‑source projects.
• Comfortable working in a remote, flat‑structure environment.
