Operation Engineer

About the role

Saipem is seeking an Operation Engineer to support its Offshore Operations Equipment function. The role ensures that mission‑critical equipment integration, operational methods, and field activities are designed and executed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical reviews and operational input for methods, procedures, and installation plans during tender, engineering, and execution phases.
• Advise offshore and onshore teams on best practices, operational constraints, and equipment readiness.
• Monitor work progress to ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
• Liaise with Project Operations, Offshore Construction Managers, and Asset teams.
• Participate in HAZID sessions, risk evaluations, and lessons‑learned activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Naval, Offshore Engineering or an equivalent field.
• 3–5 years of experience in offshore operations, construction support, or related marine activities.
• Fluent English; Italian or French considered an asset.

Required skills

• Understanding of offshore construction methods.
• Experience with rigid pipelaying techniques (S‑Lay, J‑Lay).
• Knowledge of cable and flexible laying operations.
• Heavy lifting operational expertise.
• HSE knowledge and risk assessment methodologies.
• Ability to review technical documentation and installation plans.
• Proficiency in reporting and operational documentation.
