Operations Control Systems Specialist

About the role

Etihad Airways is looking for an experienced Operations Control Systems Specialist to improve the value, usability and resilience of its operations control systems. The specialist acts as the subject matter expert, working with operational teams, technology stakeholders and external vendors to ensure operational continuity, enable new capabilities and integrate operational technologies quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary business SME and operational focal point for operations control systems, interfaces and supporting applications.
• Monitor system performance and report regularly on service levels, risks, compliance status and improvement opportunities to senior stakeholders.
• Lead operational support, including incident management, root cause investigations, corrective actions and post-incident reviews.
• Assess, validate and support system changes, releases, configurations and operational readiness.
• Maintain oversight of system interfaces, data flows, reference data and downstream dependencies, and resolve discrepancies with IT teams and vendors.
• Administer user access controls, permissions and access reviews in line with security and compliance requirements.
• Support audits and compliance activities with system evidence, documentation and remediation actions.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and process optimisation, and recommend system enhancements based on value, safety, risk, cost and business impact.
• Develop system standards, training frameworks, knowledge management practices and user adoption strategies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or an equivalent discipline (mandatory).
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a System Administrator or Systems Specialist.
• Proven experience in airline operations, with a strong specialisation in the operations control domain (mandatory).
• Demonstrated experience supporting business-critical operational systems and applications.

• Strong understanding of airline operational systems, interfaces and data management.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with automation tools and process improvement initiatives.
• Analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills, able to work in a fast-paced, operationally critical environment.
