Operations & Maintenance Specialist

About the role

Stantec is looking for an experienced Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Specialist to support TAQA Water Solutions projects in Abu Dhabi. The role covers the full project lifecycle—from design through construction, commissioning, hand‑over and ongoing operation of wastewater, sewerage, pumping stations and related utility infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Develop O&M strategies, maintenance philosophies and asset‑management plans, ensuring maintainability, reliability and lifecycle cost considerations are embedded in design and construction.
• Review design documents, drawings, specifications and method statements from an O&M perspective and ensure compliance with TAQA‑WS standards, Abu Dhabi regulations and industry best practices.
• Support inspection, testing, factory and site acceptance tests, and commissioning activities, verifying that performance targets are met before hand‑over.
• Lead the preparation and review of hand‑over packages, including as‑built drawings, maintenance schedules, spare‑parts lists and operational procedures.
• Coordinate with TAQA‑WS representatives, consultants, contractors and operations teams, providing specialist O&M input in project meetings and training client staff.
• Analyse asset performance data, identify optimisation opportunities and drive continuous improvement aligned with ISO 55001 principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Process Engineering or a related discipline; a Master’s degree or professional certification is an advantage.
• 10‑15 years of experience in operations, maintenance, asset management or commissioning of water‑related utility infrastructure, preferably with TAQA‑WS, ADDC or ADSSC.
• Proven track record delivering large‑scale wastewater, sewerage or pumping‑station projects and supporting hand‑over and operational readiness.
