Operator Central O&M Water / Pumping Stations & Wells

About the role

The Operator will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of central water treatment, pumping stations and wells, ensuring a reliable water supply. This role involves monitoring plant performance, responding to alarms, and maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and control equipment and systems associated with water treatment and distribution.
• Monitor plant and pumping‑station equipment through control panels, computer systems and instrumentation.
• Track operating parameters such as pressure, flow, temperature, voltage and current.
• Perform equipment start‑up and shutdown activities in line with SOPs.
• Respond to alarms, equipment failures, water‑quality issues and emergency situations.
• Maintain operational stability and continuity of water supply.
• Maintain accurate operational, maintenance and water‑quality records.
• Report operational status, abnormalities and equipment issues to supervisors.
• Monitor water‑quality results and support adjustments to treatment processes where required.
• Ensure compliance with operational, HSE and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Diploma or Higher Diploma in a relevant technical field.
• Up to approximately 4 years of experience in water‑treatment operations or a related field.
• Experience operating pumps, treatment systems, distribution equipment or utility assets.
• Exposure to control‑room monitoring and control systems.
• Understanding of SOPs and emergency‑response procedures.
• Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.
