Optical Technician – Lens Cutting & Fitting

About the role

The Optical Technician works in a busy retail workshop, handling the full cycle of ophthalmic lens production and repair. The role ensures accurate lens cutting, glazing, fitting and final quality checks to meet customer prescriptions and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Cut, glaze and fit ophthalmic lenses according to prescriptions and frame specifications.
• Perform frame adjustments, basic repairs and replace damaged components.
• Inspect lenses and frames for manufacturing defects and quality issues.
• Assist the sales team in selecting appropriate lenses for each frame.
• Process, track and deliver optical lens orders using the internal system.
• Order and maintain RX optical lens stock, conducting regular stock checks.
• Follow up on daily and pending orders, providing timely updates.
• Conduct final quality checks before handing over completed orders.
• Maintain equipment according to safety guidelines and perform routine cleaning.
• Keep the workshop clean, report any damaged lenses or technical issues promptly.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or certification in Optical Technology (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of optical experience in the UAE.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good organizational and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and varied shifts when needed.
