Optometrist

About the role

Deira Medical Center is seeking a qualified Optometrist to deliver high‑quality eye care to patients in Dubai. The role involves conducting comprehensive eye examinations, fitting contact lenses, and supporting the optometry department’s clinical and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide complete eye examinations and appropriate contact lens fittings for patients.
• Uphold the highest standards of practice, ethics and professionalism in all patient interactions.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director and Head of Department to supervise the optometry practice and dispensary.
• Participate in quality‑assurance committee meetings, provider meetings and general staff meetings.
• Assist in developing medical policies, quality‑improvement procedures and evaluating current practices.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of new techniques, equipment operation and international guidelines, including DHA regulations and Joint Commission International norms.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Optometry (or equivalent diploma).
• Minimum two years of relevant clinical experience.
• Current licensure in country of origin and a valid DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE.
• Fluency in spoken and written English; Arabic is desirable but not essential.

Required skills
