Order Taker – In‑Room Dining (Full‑time)

About the role

Take room service orders over the phone, answer menu and wine questions, and ensure guests receive timely, accurate service in line with The Ritz‑Carlton Gold Standards.

Key responsibilities

• Take phone orders for in‑room dining and log callbacks.
• Answer guest questions about menu selections and wine origins, vintages, and styles.
• Notify guests and management of any delays in service delivery.
• Communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the shift.
• Record transactions in the MICROS point‑of‑sale system at the time of order.
• Complete all closing reports, including MICROS reports.
• Process all payment methods and ensure accurate billing.
• Follow company safety and security policies, reporting any incidents.
• Maintain a professional appearance and protect confidential information.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests, use proper telephone etiquette, and thank them sincerely.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• Ability to work full‑time schedule in a hospitality environment.
• Capability to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and lift ≤10 lb.
• Willingness to follow safety, security, and service standards.
• Professional appearance and clear English communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and support common goals.
