Paediatric Nurse

About the role

King's College Hospital London, Dubai is recruiting a full-time Paediatric Nurse to care for children from birth to late teens. The nurse provides initial care, administers prescribed medication and monitors patients' progress while supporting families and working with them on their concerns and options.

Key responsibilities

• Discuss a child's symptoms and medical history, assess needs and provide initial care
• Document symptoms and history for the doctor and prepare equipment for examinations and treatments
• Administer medications, draw blood and give childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines
• Evaluate children for signs and symptoms of abuse and escalate concerns as appropriate
• Respond to life-saving situations in line with nursing standards and protocol
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patients' needs on an ongoing basis
• Keep patients and relatives informed regularly with accurate, sensitive information and help families cope with illness or injury
• Provide health education to promote healthy lifestyles and respect cultural and religious beliefs, privacy and dignity
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Required profile

• DHA license from the UAE Medical Health Authority
• Bachelor's degree in nursing (minimum two-year course) and registration as a registered nurse from Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand or Australia
• At least 2 years of experience in a hospital or similar setting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, patients and stakeholders

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Able to manage digital documentation and communication effectively
