Pain Medicine Consultant – UAE

About the role

A leading healthcare provider in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Pain Medicine Consultant to join its multidisciplinary clinical team. The role involves delivering comprehensive pain management, performing interventional procedures, and collaborating with orthopaedics, neurology, oncology and rehabilitation specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and treat acute, chronic, cancer‑related, neuropathic and musculoskeletal pain.
• Perform image‑guided interventions such as nerve blocks, epidural injections, radio‑frequency ablation and joint procedures.
• Develop multimodal pain management plans that include medication optimisation, rehabilitation, psychology and lifestyle support.
• Coordinate care with orthopaedic, neurology, oncology, rheumatology and rehabilitation teams.
• Educate patients on long‑term pain control, functional restoration and safe analgesic use.
• Maintain high standards of consent, documentation, procedural safety and patient outcomes.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Internationally recognised qualification in Pain Medicine (e.g., American Board, UK CCT, FRCA, European Diploma, Royal College of Canada, Australian Fellowship, Arab Board).
• Eligibility for UAE medical licensing and facility credentialing.
• Experience in a hospital or specialist pain centre setting.
