Paint Technician - Sri Lanka Recruitment Event

About the role

Air Arabia is recruiting a Paint Technician through its invitation-only Engineering Recruitment Event in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in mid-November 2026. Candidates should apply only if they can attend the event in Colombo after being shortlisted and invited; event details such as venue, date and interview schedule will be shared only with shortlisted candidates. The Paint Technician carries out painting maintenance on aircraft undergoing Base and Line Maintenance, ensuring work meets required standards and is recorded in line with Air Arabia and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review assigned task cards with the Engineer-in-Charge before starting work, understanding priorities, documentation needs and cautions.
• Prepare and carry out scheduled aircraft maintenance and paint repairs according to task cards, approved data and procedures, using the right documentation, parts, tools and ground support equipment.
• Report the status of assigned tasks regularly and alert the Engineer-in-Charge to any aircraft condition or work execution issues.
• Manage safety: follow mandatory precautions, use proper GSE and protective equipment, and respect human factors such as work interruption procedures and adequate access and lighting.
• Support the team and other departments involved in scheduled maintenance checks, and present a professional image to external partners and customers.
• Be aware of maintenance costs and minimise waste of consumables and part repair costs.

Required profile

• For external applicants: at least 2 years' experience performing maintenance on large commercial aircraft, preferably Airbus types.
• At least 2 years' experience in a Base Maintenance Workshop environment.
• Solid basic understanding of airframe and engine maintenance theory and practice.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to a good standard for technical communication.
• Ability to use a computer (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to obtain a UAE driver's licence.
