Pastry Chef de Partie

About the role

The Pastry Chef de Partie at Marriott Executive Apartments Sheikh Zayed Road prepares special meals and substitutes, cooks food according to recipes and quality standards, and supports the kitchen team. The role also involves assisting management with hiring, training and scheduling, and following company and safety policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items and prepare cold foods
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
• Maintain food logs and communicate assistance needed during busy periods
• Inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials and inform F&B service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating employees, and act as a role model
• Follow company and safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
• Keep a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and build positive working relationships

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree preferred
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift up to 25 pounds
