Pastry Commis (Level 1) – Abu Dhabi

About the role

The Commis I – Pastry joins the pastry team at Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi, supporting the creation of high‑quality pastries, desserts and bakery items. You will work under senior chefs to ensure consistent taste, presentation and hygiene across all pastry operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing pastries, cakes, breads and desserts according to standard recipes.
• Support senior chefs with daily production tasks and buffet, banquet or event setups.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization and proper labeling of the pastry section, following FIFO stock rotation.
• Operate and clean pastry equipment safely and report any faults.
• Follow HACCP food‑safety standards and contribute to cost‑control and waste‑reduction efforts.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality.
• Hands‑on kitchen experience, preferably in a 5‑star or premium hotel.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment and as part of a team.
• Good planning, organization and communication skills.
