Pastry Commis (Level 1)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Pastry Commis (Level 1) to join the culinary team at Anantara Mina Al Arab Ras Al Khaimah Resort. The role supports the pastry department in preparing and presenting high‑quality desserts and baked goods for our guests in a luxury hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mise‑en‑place and assist in the service of pastry items across all outlets.
• Follow food preparation and presentation guidelines to ensure consistent quality.
• Maintain clean, hygienic workstations and adhere to food safety and HACCP standards.
• Store, date, rotate and handle food products according to safety protocols.
• Support events, banquets and special functions as required.
• Participate in departmental training and follow check‑list and cleaning schedules.
• Comply with personal hygiene, grooming, fire safety and health‑and‑safety rules.
• Contribute ideas for improving the Minor Hotels presentation guidelines.

Required profile

• Basic skills in cake decorating, piping, glazing and dessert plating.
• Knowledge of baking techniques and operation of pastry equipment.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene and sanitation (HACCP).
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented kitchen environment.
