Patient Administration Executive

About the role

The Patient Administration Executive will be the first point of contact for visitors at Royal Medical Centre Shahama, ensuring a smooth and professional experience from arrival to discharge. This role combines front‑desk reception, patient registration, billing, and insurance coordination within a busy hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients, direct them to appropriate departments and provide routine hospital information.
• Handle telephone inquiries, schedule appointments, manage no‑shows, and confirm bookings.
• Register new patients, maintain up‑to‑date records, and verify insurance eligibility.
• Explain insurance coverage, collect co‑payments, and issue claim forms when required.
• Process daily cash, credit‑card slips and cheque deposits, ensuring accurate financial recording.
• Generate and issue invoices for consultations, treatments and diagnostic tests.
• Monitor and respond to email queries promptly.
• Maintain a clean, safe reception area and adhere to hospital policies, NMC regulations and JCI standards.
• Participate in training programs and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a hospital or medical‑clinic front‑desk or administrative role.
• Good knowledge of medical billing, insurance processes and patient registration.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Excellent communication skills and a courteous, patient‑focused attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Hospital Information System (HIS) for patient data and appointment management.
