Payroll Officer

About the role

Wio Bank is looking for a Payroll Officer to own the end‑to‑end payroll process for its UAE operations. This role ensures accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery while providing a seamless experience for employees.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for all legal entities, including salaries, allowances, overtime, deductions and related transactions.
• Validate and act on payroll inputs such as new hires, terminations, salary revisions, promotions, unpaid leave and benefit changes.
• Calculate final settlements, gratuity, leave encashment and statutory deductions with precision.
• Prepare, reconcile and submit payroll registers, bank transfer files and general‑ledger reports to Finance.
• Conduct regular payroll reconciliations and audits to maintain data integrity and internal control compliance.
• Maintain confidential employee master data and payroll records in the HRMS.
• Administer employee benefits and deductions, ensuring compliance with UAE Labour Law and internal policies.
• Serve as the first point of contact for payroll and benefits queries, resolving issues within defined SLAs.
• Support HR operations in onboarding, contract administration and HRMS maintenance.
• Contribute to payroll process improvements, system enhancements and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in payroll or HR operations within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Labour Law, pension regulations and internal payroll policies.
• High attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to handle sensitive data confidentially.
• Effective communication skills with both employees and senior leadership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or HR is a plus.
