Pediatric Sonographer

About the role

The Pediatric Sonographer will independently perform and assist with ultrasound imaging procedures for children, ensuring high‑quality diagnostic images. The role involves close collaboration with senior sonographers and radiologists to deliver accurate reports and support patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Perform all pediatric ultrasound imaging procedures in line with department policies and protocols.
• Analyze and evaluate images for quality, completeness, and diagnostic relevance.
• Forward images to radiologists for review and reporting.
• Recognise anatomy and pathology on cross‑sectional images and optimise scan protocols.
• Maintain safe and competent use of radiology equipment, reporting any incidents or faults promptly.
• Keep the work area clean, restock supplies, and ensure equipment hygiene.
• Respond to patient and clinical staff enquiries and relay information as needed.
• Perform additional radiography procedures as required and other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• BSc in Radiography with a sonography certificate, or an accredited BSc/Associate degree in Sonography.
• Registration with a recognized sonography or radiography accreditation body (e.g., ARRT, CAMRT, UK HPC, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and paediatric pathology.
• Ability to work independently or under supervision and communicate effectively with clinical teams.
