Personal Safety, WMS and HRT Engineer

About the role

Al Yasat is hiring an Engineer for Personal Safety, Work Management System (WMS) and High Risk Transportation (HRT) in Abu Dhabi. The role leads the development and implementation of the companies' personal safety, WMS and HRT requirements to protect personnel and enable safe operations, working with site personnel and covering both onshore and offshore facilities. It applies to both Al Dhafra Petroleum and Al Yasat Petroleum.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development, updating and implementation of Personal Safety, WMS and HRT standards under the Discipline Owner, aligned with ADNOC HSE Manuals and Corporate Practices.
• Act as focal point for the disciplines and take part in ADNOC Discipline Lead Councils and Communities of Practice.
• Provide compliance and assurance services across both companies, including site verification visits, workplace inspections, permit-to-work field audits and behavioural safety observations.
• Assess permit-to-work controls, job safety analysis, energy isolation and fire prevention; advise on contractor safety standards and take part in contractor audits.
• Monitor transportation safety, including in-vehicle monitoring systems, journey management, driver authorisation and fatigue management, and track non-compliance and driving behaviour trends.
• Participate in and lead incident reviews and investigations, and develop KPIs, indicators and dashboards.
• Review and endorse journey management plans for heavy loads, hazardous goods and personnel bus services, and verify competence of permit issuers, isolating authorities, drivers and journey managers.
• Support the HSE Management System, emergency preparedness, drills and exercises, and benchmark against ADNOC and international practice.
• Recommend AI and digitalisation solutions, and lead improvement plans and awareness campaigns.
• Contribute to department budgets, performance objectives and innovation projects, and prepare periodic discipline performance reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with an HSE-related specialisation or equivalent discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in HSE management, including 1 year in a similar position in the oil and gas industry covering personal safety, WMS and/or transportation safety.
• Professional safety certifications from reputable international organisations are preferable.
