Pharmacy Approval Officer

About the role

The Pharmacy Approval Officer ensures that all pharmacy‑related requests, prescriptions, procurement documents and controlled medication processes are reviewed, verified and authorized in line with hospital policies, regulatory standards and insurance guidelines. This role supports safe, compliant and timely patient care within the pharmacy department.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve pharmacy prescriptions and medication orders.
• Validate procurement documents and controlled substance requests.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, local regulations and insurance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of all approvals and authorizations.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, clinicians and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in pharmacy operations or medical approvals.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and insurance guidelines.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with clinical and administrative staff.
