Phlebotomist – Emirati National (Dubai)

About the role

The position involves collecting blood and other specimens from patients of all ages in a hospital or clinic setting in Dubai. The successful candidate will ensure patient safety, accurate labeling, and timely delivery of samples to the laboratory while complying with DHA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection following hospital standards.
• Verify patient identity, confirm test preparations, and label specimens correctly.
• Transport specimens to the laboratory promptly and maintain accurate documentation.
• Adhere to infection‑control protocols, including safe disposal of sharps and biohazard waste.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and laboratory staff to ensure efficient sample processing.

Required profile

• UAE national with a valid DHA license or eligibility letter for phlebotomy.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (or equivalent).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specimen collection, preferably in a hospital or clinic.
• Ability to obtain insurance approvals and verify patient payments before procedures.

Required skills

• Venipuncture and capillary blood collection techniques.
• Specimen labeling and transport.
• Infection‑control and safety protocol compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Resuscitation certification and ongoing CPD.
