Phlebotomist

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team in Al Ain. The role involves collecting blood specimens, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with international and local quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens using venipuncture, capillary or finger‑stick techniques.
• Verify patient identity and label samples accurately to prevent errors.
• Prepare, sterilise and maintain all phlebotomy equipment.
• Provide a calm and comfortable environment for patients, addressing any concerns.
• Document procedures, patient information and specimen details accurately.
• Transport specimens safely to the laboratory for analysis.
• Follow all safety and bio‑hazard disposal protocols.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report to supervisors.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and laboratory staff to ensure timely results.
• Adhere to ISO 15189, JCI, DOH/DHA/MOH, HIPAA and infection‑control policies.

Required profile

• Ability to work all scheduled shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory standards (ISO 15189, JCI, HIPAA, OSHAD).
• Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety.
• Effective interpersonal skills for communication with medical staff.
