Physics Teacher – Jan 2027 Start

About the role

Aldar Education is recruiting a Physics Teacher for Yasmina British Academy in Abu Dhabi, joining in January 2027. Candidates must have a secure knowledge of teaching the English National Curriculum and a proven track record of raising standards and closing learning gaps. The school welcomes staff into its community, and offers are subject to satisfactory references and police clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement departmental policies and practices that reflect the school's vision and commitment to high standards.
• Set, monitor and evaluate short, medium and long-term departmental development plans.
• Use data to identify underachieving students and put action plans in place to support them.
• Analyse school data to inform policies and the school's Self-Evaluation Form.
• Ensure schemes of work are developed, reviewed and evaluated for all year groups, with provision for SEN, G&T and EAL students.
• Maintain curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for all students, including those of high ability and with special educational needs.
• Set expectations for staff on standards, teaching quality and behaviour, and evaluate teaching to identify improvements.
• Contribute to the school's CAS Programme and after-school revision sessions for I/GCSE and IB DP courses.
• Performance manage the team, deploy staff and resources efficiently, and control the department's resource and capital budgets.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in the related subject with a PGCE or other teacher qualification.
• At least 6 years of teaching experience.
• Experience of the UK curriculum.
• Commitment to an extensive enrichment programme and to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people.
