Physiotherapist – Gait Lab

About the role

The Physiotherapist – Gait Lab will independently conduct all phases of clinical gait analysis, from patient assessment and data acquisition to interpretation, multidisciplinary discussion, and reporting. This role is based in the State-of-the-Art Gait Laboratory at STMC Rehab.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and acquire gait data using advanced 3D motion‑capture systems.
• Analyse and interpret gait data, generate reports and present findings to the multidisciplinary team.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, orthotists, radiology staff, and other allied health professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Operate and maintain gait‑lab technologies such as Vicon, Qualisys, surface EMG, force plates, and analysis software (Nexus, Visual3D).
• Assist with scheduling, patient flow, and documentation throughout the gait‑analysis process.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy with a valid UAE professional license or eligibility for DoH licensing, OR a degree in Engineering, Physics, Biomechanics, Movement Science, or related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience working in a clinical gait laboratory.
• Post‑graduate education, training, or continuing professional development in clinical gait analysis.
• Completion of a recognised course in clinical gait analysis or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience assessing children and/or adults with neurological, orthopaedic, prosthetic, or complex movement disorders.

Required skills

• 3D motion‑capture systems (Vicon, Qualisys).
• Surface electromyography (EMG) equipment.
• Force plates for biomechanical measurement.
• Biomechanical analysis software (Nexus, Visual3D).
• Clinical gait analysis methodology.
