Physiotherapy Technician

About the role

The Physiotherapy Technician supports the delivery of safe, evidence‑based physiotherapy services at SSMC under the supervision of a Registered Physiotherapist. This role contributes to patient rehabilitation in acute care and rehab settings.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with assessment elements such as measurements for equipment provision as directed by registered physiotherapists.
• Deliver physiotherapy treatment programs using evidence‑based protocols and guidelines.
• Monitor patient progress, adapt treatment plans in agreement with physiotherapists, and update documentation.
• Provide patient education and maintain equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with patients and physiotherapists to advance rehabilitation goals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support administrative tasks for departmental efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, clinical guidelines, and mandatory competencies (e.g., Basic Life Support, Infection Control, Fire Safety).

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience as a physiotherapy technician in acute care hospitals or rehabilitation facilities.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and compliance with licensing requirements.
