Pipeline Engineer - Oil & Gas EPC Projects

About the role

The Pipeline Engineer is responsible for site pipeline design activities in proposals and projects, generally supported by specialized Engineering Subcontractors and/or engineers and specialists inside or outside the Layout & Piping Department. The position is based in Abu Dhabi on a contractual basis starting from 01.11.2026.

Key responsibilities

• Report operationally to the Project Engineering Manager or Layout & Piping Project Leader on project and proposal activities.
• Prepare and discuss the project execution strategy, including the schedule, with the Project Team and the Head of Department, and ensure it is applied throughout the project life.
• Lead and coordinate pipeline design from proposal and feasibility/conceptual studies up to detail engineering, with support from internal engineers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contracts, codes, good engineering practice and group standards and procedures.
• Participate in estimating materials and construction costs for pipeline activities.
• Support all project stakeholders, including Proposal and Project Managers, Project Control, Procurement, Subcontracting, Construction and Commissioning.
• Give feedback to Heads of Departments on procedures, work instructions and standards to improve them.
• Contribute to the Group document system, lessons learned and improvements to work methods and design tools.
• Take part in training courses to support professional growth in pipeline design and construction.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience in EPC projects within the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
