Planner Engineer - Construction Projects

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a Planner Engineer for construction in Dubai. The role covers the development, management and coordination of construction project schedules so that projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget. It involves preparing project plans, tracking progress, managing resources and working closely with project managers, engineers, procurement and construction teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and maintain detailed project schedules using scheduling software such as MS Project and Primavera P6, and prepare master project plans with timelines, milestones and resource allocation.
• Identify critical paths, update timelines when scope, resources or other factors change, and track daily, weekly and monthly progress against the baseline schedule.
• Prepare regular progress reports for the project team, senior management and stakeholders, and flag potential delays early.
• Work with project and construction managers to allocate materials, manpower and equipment, and adjust allocations to avoid inefficiencies.
• Analyse project risks and develop mitigation plans covering materials, labour and external factors such as weather and supply chain.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams, and liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
• Maintain accurate scheduling documentation and records of planning data, revisions and approvals.
• Assist in budgeting for project timelines and align scheduling and resource allocation with the project budget.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in construction planning or scheduling.
• Hands-on experience planning, scheduling and coordinating large-scale construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, timelines and resource management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, data analysis).
• Familiarity with BIM and other project management tools is a plus.
