Planner – Retail Planning & Inventory Management

About the role

The role holder is responsible for providing support in formulating planning strategies for pre‑season, in‑season and post‑season management to optimise sales, GPV and inventory levels.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare brand/category MIS analytics based on actual sales, forecasts, order parameters, inventory checks, events and replenishment needs.
• Maintain and analyse brand/category sales history, stock budget and current inventory, and produce seasonal sales forecasts to calculate quarterly open‑to‑buy figures for each store.
• Monitor brand/category plans using store analytics, customer preferences, historical trends and buying team outlooks.
• Coordinate with the buying team to execute in‑season management across retail stores, including stock balancing, markdown management and performance analysis.
• Identify obsolete or slow‑moving stock and obtain approval for markdowns or discounts in line with retail/brand SOPs.
• Prepare variance analysis reports of stock and sales versus budget, highlighting growth opportunities to mitigate down‑trending business.
• Set and track targets for GMROII and density by brand/category to improve profitability.
• Ensure all promotions and sales plans are executed according to the trade calendar.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant planning experience.
