Planning Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Planning Engineer to lead planning, scheduling and progress control for a major infrastructure Operations & Maintenance project in Abu Dhabi. The role will ensure robust programme delivery, accurate reporting and effective mitigation of schedule risks.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor baseline and updated programmes, validating resource and schedule feasibility.
• Develop and maintain integrated master schedules across multiple packages and interfaces.
• Analyse progress updates to identify delays, critical events and recommend recovery actions.
• Perform “what‑if” and schedule impact analyses for changes, variations and potential events.
• Prepare regular progress reports, monthly programme analysis and presentations against key milestones.
• Support claims and EOT assessments using delay analysis methods such as time impact and window analysis.
• Lead planning and progress meetings, prepare minutes and maintain trackers and contemporaneous records.
• Agree progress measurement systems and KPIs with contractors and issue delay or performance notices when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 10 years of planning/scheduling experience on infrastructure projects (stormwater, roads, sewerage, utilities).
• UAE equivalency certificate is mandatory.
• Strong communication and reporting abilities.
