Planning Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

About the role

GCC, a contractor established in 1988 with a portfolio spanning infrastructure, defence, industrial, commercial, leisure and residential projects, is looking for a Planning Engineer based in Abu Dhabi. The role suits someone with 5 to 10 years of UAE experience in infrastructure, roads and bridge projects, and focuses on supporting the tender process through planning schedules, submissions and technical presentations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare tender schedules, including baseline programmes aligned with project scope and requirements.
• Develop and submit comprehensive planning packages for tender submissions.
• Prepare technical presentations showing construction methodologies during the tender stage.
• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and scope of work to build accurate project timelines.
• Identify potential risks, constraints and opportunities during the tender phase.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimise project duration and resources.
• Take part in pre-bid meetings and give planning input and clarifications.
• Ensure planning deliverables meet client requirements and contractual obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the UAE.
• Good knowledge of contract terms such as FIDIC, turnkey and reimbursable contracts.
• Able to manage multiple interfaces and perform well under pressure.

Required skills

• Strong scheduling and forecasting using industry-standard tools.
• Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 and PowerPoint.
• Analytical mindset with effective problem-solving skills.
