Planning Engineer - Interior Fit-Out & Joinery

About the role

M Qube Interiors Carpentry LLC is a Dubai-based interior fit-out and carpentry/joinery company delivering residential, commercial, retail and corporate projects, covering custom joinery, gypsum and ceiling works, partitions, flooring, painting and finishing. It is hiring a Planning Engineer to support project teams by building practical schedules and monitoring progress from planning through handover.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project programmes, work plans and milestone schedules for interior fit-out and joinery packages.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, draftsmen, quantity surveyors, procurement and subcontractors to align activities and resources.
• Track actual progress against baseline schedules, identify delays and dependencies and prepare recovery plans with responsible teams.
• Review drawings, scopes, quantities and site updates to validate sequence, durations and planned deliverables.
• Prepare regular progress reports, look-ahead schedules, critical-path updates and schedule variance summaries for management and clients.
• Maintain planning records and support coordination meetings, change reviews and handover planning.

Required profile

• Experience preparing and updating construction or interior fit-out schedules and progress reports.
• Ability to interpret architectural, joinery and fit-out drawings, scopes of work, quantities and milestones.
• Strong coordination skills with site teams, project managers, procurement, subcontractors and design personnel.
• Competence in progress measurement, delay analysis, look-ahead planning, resource coordination and recovery scheduling.
• Sound understanding of interior construction sequences such as partitions, ceilings, flooring, carpentry/joinery and finishes.
• Organised, analytical and proactive, able to manage changing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project, including baselines, dependencies, critical paths and schedule updates.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and clear written reporting.
• Careful document control and follow-through.
