Planning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Planning Engineer to lead the planning activities for large‑scale Etihad Rail projects, primarily bridges and infrastructure construction, in Dubai, UAE.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and monitor detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 (mandatory) and MS Project (additional).
• Prepare cost‑loaded, resource‑loaded programs, change logs, KPIs and EOT analyses.
• Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to align with the baseline schedule and identify major risks.
• Produce look‑ahead programs, progress reports, mitigation and recovery plans when delays occur.
• Conduct site visits to verify actual progress against planned timelines.
• Integrate project milestones with authority NOC approvals, traffic diversion plans and permits.
• Analyse critical path, float and resource allocation to optimise timelines.
• Participate in progress meetings and present updates to management and client representatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil or construction management).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the discipline, with at least 5 years in a planning role on similar bridge and infrastructure projects in the UAE.
• Involvement in at least two Dubai projects within the last five years.
• Strong English communication skills and knowledge of Dubai authority procedures and standards.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Proficiency in MS Project.
• Strong command of the MS Office Suite.
