Planning Engineer

About the role

The Planning Engineer is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Abu Dhabi, responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating project plans and schedules for engineering and construction projects. The role involves preparing detailed work breakdown structures, timelines, and resource allocations, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed work breakdown structures, timelines, and resource allocations for projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align schedules with project objectives.
• Track project progress, analyze deviations, and prepare regular reports on schedule performance, productivity, and risks.
• Recommend corrective actions and support project control activities.
• Maintain planning and scheduling software data and contribute to tender and proposal schedules.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients to ensure transparency on project status.

Required profile

• Strong planning and production planning skills for engineering and construction projects.
• Analytical and project control capabilities to monitor performance and propose corrective measures.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or related) or equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience in the GCC construction or engineering consulting sector, especially in Abu Dhabi or the UAE, is an advantage.
