Planning Manager – Construction Projects (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Planning Manager to lead planning and scheduling activities for our construction contracting projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves monitoring progress, identifying risks, and ensuring delivery aligns with approved schedules and contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain detailed baseline schedules in line with project and contractual milestones.
• Lead the planning function across multiple construction projects and coordinate with project, construction, engineering, procurement, QS and other teams.
• Monitor actual progress, identify delays, slippages and risks, and prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and dashboards.
• Conduct critical‑path analysis, assess impact of changes, and prepare recovery programs and mitigation plans.
• Review contractor/sub‑contractor schedules for alignment with the overall program.
• Support preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis.
• Participate in progress meetings and provide clear schedule updates to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Planning Manager within the construction contracting industry.
• Strong overall experience in construction contracting; UAE construction experience is highly preferred.
• Currently based in the UAE.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, communication and coordination abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Primavera P6.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools.
