PLC & SCADA Engineer

About the role

The PLC & SCADA Engineer will design, program, test, commission, troubleshoot and maintain PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for water and wastewater treatment plants in Dubai.

Key responsibilities

• Design PLC control systems, develop software, and configure SCADA/HMI applications according to project specifications.
• Perform FAT and SAT, commission systems on site, conduct I/O testing, loop checking and support plant start‑up.
• Integrate instrumentation, VFDs, analyzers and field devices, and coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams.
• Prepare functional design specifications, operation manuals, as‑built documentation and technical reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronics or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 3–8 years of industrial automation experience, with at least 5 years in water or wastewater treatment projects.
• Strong knowledge of PLC platforms (Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider, Mitsubishi, Omron) and SCADA systems (WinCC, FactoryTalk View).

Required skills

• Siemens S7‑1200, S7‑1500, S7‑300/400, TIA Portal.
• Allen‑Bradley (Rockwell) and Schneider Electric PLCs.
• SCADA: Siemens WinCC, WinCC Unified, FactoryTalk View, Weintek.
• Communication protocols: Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC.
• HMI: Siemens Comfort Panels, other vendor panels.
• Instrumentation integration (flow, pressure, level, pH, conductivity, DO, turbidity, chlorine analyzers).
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office for documentation.
