PLC SCADA Software Engineer

About the role

The role focuses on developing, testing, and maintaining industrial automation software using Siemens technologies. You will work remotely and on‑site to support engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop PLC application software with Siemens TIA Portal V21.
• Create and maintain programs for Siemens S7‑1200 and S7‑1500 PLCs.
• Design, configure, and modify WinCC HMI/SCADA applications.
• Review Functional Design Specifications, Sequence of Operations, Cause & Effect matrices, and I/O schedules before coding.
• Produce modular, reusable, and well‑documented PLC code.
• Perform offline testing using PLCSIM where applicable.
• Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and provide remote software assistance during commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Maintain version control, backups, and revision history.
• Prepare software documentation, testing records, and change logs.
• Collaborate with project managers, controls engineers, and commissioning teams.

Required profile

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control panel drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and I/O schedules.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical control systems, including AC/DC circuits, relays, contactors, motor starters, analogue/digital I/O, protection devices, RCD/RCCB, and fail‑safe principles.
• Knowledge of electrical fault‑finding, circuit theory, and industrial troubleshooting techniques.
