Plumber – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The plumber will respond to guest repair requests and perform a wide range of maintenance tasks within the hotel. The role involves communicating with guests, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring all equipment is safe and functional.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests, communicating clearly with guests and other shifts.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room systems, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; identify and operate shut‑off valves and utility shut‑offs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies, and document daily activities using approved communication programs.
• Conduct basic repairs such as plumbing (unclogging drains, fixing toilets), electrical components (lamps, switches, outlets), surface preparation, painting, drywall and wood‑trim work.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before work, repair interior and exterior landscaping, and program televisions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lb and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and stairs.
• Basic computer proficiency for entering schedules and temperature changes.
