PMC Construction Site Lead

About the role

Wood is seeking a senior professional to lead the Project Construction team and ensure safe, on‑time delivery of major oil & gas projects. The role combines strategic oversight, safety championing, and hands‑on management of construction planning and execution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the construction team to meet project objectives and safety targets, reinforcing the “Nobody gets Hurt” philosophy.
• Manage contractor planning, execution, and compliance with project strategies, obligations and requirements.
• Establish and coordinate a construction organization that implements execution plans and resourcing.
• Provide construction and execution strategy support, including oversight of Integrated Safety Plans and SIMOPS for island and brownfield work.
• Interface with ADNOC and other stakeholders to minimise production disruption during brownfield activities.
• Report progress, performance and issues to the Project Team and sponsor readiness reviews, constructability workshops and CERs.
• Mentor and train UAE nationals in construction management and ensure regular performance appraisal.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent); Master’s degree in Management is a plus.
• 20+ years of experience in the oil & gas sector with broad construction management exposure on large projects.
• Proven experience managing contractors, suppliers and technical staff worldwide.
• Strong decision‑making ability, excellent written and verbal communication, and solid interpersonal skills.
