PMC Senior Process Engineer

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Senior Process Engineer in Abu Dhabi to act as the client's technical representative for a high-profile energy project. The engineer provides technical leadership and oversight of all process engineering activities, ensuring that process design, safety, operability and performance requirements are met according to project specifications, client standards, industry codes and regulations. The role covers the review and approval of EPC contractor deliverables and ensures timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Review and oversee process engineering activities of EPC contractors, consultants and vendors, and monitor their performance and deliverables
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, international codes and regulatory requirements
• Review and approve Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process descriptions and operating philosophies
• Verify heat and material balance calculations, process simulations and hydraulic studies
• Review equipment sizing and specifications for vessels, separators, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, columns and utility systems
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, LOPA and other process safety and risk assessments
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil and HSE disciplines
• Review technical bid evaluations, vendor proposals and procurement documents, and evaluate design changes and technical queries

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred
• Typically 15+ years of process engineering experience in Oil & Gas, LNG, petrochemicals, refining, chemical processing or energy projects
• Minimum 5 years in PMC, EPC or major industrial projects in a senior process engineering role

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards such as API, ASME, ISO, NACE, NFPA and IEC
• Proven experience in process design, process simulation, heat and material balance calculations and equipment sizing
