Polysomnographic Technologist - Locum

About the role

The Polysomnographic Technologist will perform routine polysomnography studies for patients diagnosed with sleep and wake disorders, ensuring accurate data collection for treatment planning. This locum position is based at Mediclinic City Hospital and involves close collaboration with a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine polysomnography tests and record findings for further treatment plans.
• Conduct positive airway pressure titration studies and score the polysomnographic results.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe patient care.
• Monitor ongoing quality assurance for scoring competency and data acquisition.
• Maintain, set up, and calibrate monitoring and ancillary equipment.
• Ensure accurate documentation and data integrity for each study.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Neurophysiology or Physiology from an accredited institution.
• Registration with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of post‑registration experience in sleep studies within an acute‑care or tertiary hospital.
• Verbal and written communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Ability to perform polysomnography testing and positive airway pressure titration.
• Equipment setup, calibration and maintenance for sleep monitoring.
• Comprehensive knowledge of patient safety standards.
