Post-Doctoral Associate – Translational Medical Devices

About the role

The Center for Translational Medical Devices (CENTMED) at NYU Abu Dhabi is launching a new initiative to design and develop a machine perfusion system that extends organ preservation times and improves transplantation outcomes. The post‑doctoral associate will work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment alongside engineers, scientists, graduate students, and full‑time researchers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and test a perfusion system for biological tissue, integrating fluid control, cooling, and sensor feedback.
• Integrate hardware components of medical instruments and develop embedded control systems for multiple sensors (flow, pressure, temperature).

Required profile

• PhD in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical Engineering or a related field, with less than 5 years since graduation.
• Strong experimental skills in medical instrument development, fluid control, mechanical design, electronics, and manufacturing.
• Fluent English communication skills.
