Poultry Farm Manager (Layer Flock)

About the role

A growing organisation in the agricultural and poultry sector is looking for an experienced Farm Manager – Poultry to lead farm operations, optimise production performance and drive operational efficiency. The role suits a hands-on poultry professional with strong technical expertise in layer farm management, flock performance, biosecurity and large-scale farm operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day farm operations, ensuring productivity, efficiency and high quality standards.
• Manage the full lifecycle of layer flocks, from pullet rearing through peak laying and extended production cycles.
• Implement flock health, vaccination, biosecurity, disease prevention and veterinary management programmes.
• Monitor nutrition, feed consumption, feed conversion, water use, environmental conditions and housing.
• Oversee egg collection, grading, handling, storage, hygiene and quality.
• Lead, train and supervise farm staff, including workforce planning and performance management.
• Manage budgets, operating costs, inventory, procurement, equipment maintenance and resource use.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, animal welfare, environmental, health and safety requirements.
• Track production data, mortality, flock performance and KPIs to improve profitability, and drive continuous improvement and sustainable farming.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Poultry Science, Animal Science, Farm Management, Agribusiness or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations, with substantial hands-on poultry and layer farm experience.
• Proven experience in farm planning, workforce leadership, budgeting, cost control and production performance management.

Required skills

• Strong technical knowledge of layer flock management, egg production, poultry nutrition, biosecurity and disease prevention.
• Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, able to drive operational improvements and meet production targets.
