Power Plant Manager

About the role

An experienced, results-driven Power Plant Manager is sought to oversee the overall operation, maintenance and performance of power generation facilities. The role ensures safe, reliable and efficient plant operations, optimizes performance, manages resources and achieves business objectives while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and environmental compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily power plant operations to ensure safe, reliable and efficient power generation.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, maintenance plans and performance improvement initiatives.
• Monitor plant performance, efficiency, availability, reliability and production targets.
• Manage preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
• Manage plant equipment, systems, utilities and operational resources.
• Establish and enforce health, safety, environmental and operational standards.
• Lead, supervise and develop operations, engineering and maintenance teams.
• Manage operational budgets, cost control, procurement and resource allocation.
• Identify operational risks, investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, technical consultants and stakeholders.
• Prepare operational reports, performance reviews and management updates.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence and energy efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Power Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in power plant operations, engineering or maintenance management.
• Proven experience managing power generation facilities and multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Solid understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality management principles.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage operational budgets, contractors and multiple priorities; excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of power generation systems, plant operations, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with plant performance monitoring, reliability management and operational optimization.
