Primary Art Teacher

About the role

The Westminster School in Dubai is seeking a passionate Primary Art Teacher to inspire young learners through creative expression. You will design and deliver engaging art lessons that align with the school curriculum and foster a love for the visual arts.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver age‑appropriate art lessons aligned with the school curriculum.
• Foster a positive classroom culture focused on student engagement, motivation, and active learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative evaluations.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and academic performance.
• Develop and implement creative teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Establish clear classroom rules, expectations, and routines.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student development and well‑being.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure a holistic approach to student growth.
• Assist in planning and organizing school events such as inter‑house competitions, concerts, and plays.
• Ensure student safety and adherence to GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.

Required profile

• Minimum bachelor's degree in Art.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• At least three years of teaching experience, preferably in primary education.

Required skills

• Strong foundation in art and creative techniques.
• Excellent classroom management and student engagement abilities.
• Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Familiarity with innovative teaching technologies.
